If your trucks are too wide, your board can feel unstable and harder to control, especially when turning or flipping. It can even cause the outer wheels to clip the ground during sharp turns.
Slightly smaller trucks, however, are usually fine — some skaters actually prefer them for a tighter feel and quicker flips. But if your trucks are wider than your deck, avoid it unless you really know what you’re doing.
