Axle Nuts

Axle nuts secure your wheels to your trucks — small but essential pieces that keep everything rolling smoothly. Over time, they can wear down, loosen, or strip, so it’s always good to keep a few spares in your skate bag.

Skatan Tip: 
Don’t tighten your axle nuts too tightly. A little room to spin is good — it allows your wheels to spin freely without binding the bearings. Make sure the nut sits flush with the axle — this protects the threads and keeps the nut from getting stuck later. Tight enough to hold, loose enough to roll fast — that’s the sweet spot.

When to Replace:
If your nuts are stripped, rusted, or don’t tighten properly anymore, swap them out before your next session.
