What are pivot cups?
Pivot cups are small but essential components found in every skateboard truck. They sit at the base of the hanger and cushion the pivot point where the hanger meets the baseplate. These soft urethane cups help your trucks turn smoothly and prevent metal-on-metal contact.
When should you replace them?
If your board feels loose, turns weird, or you hear creaking or popping sounds near the pivot point, your pivot cups might be worn out or broken. Cracked, split, or overly compressed pivot cups can seriously affect your ride and should be replaced immediately.
Pro tip: Add a little skate wax shaving inside the pivot cup for smoother turns and longer lifespan.
